WOSC Summer Professional Development Series
Resilience: From the Inside Out
Grace Schoessow, MS, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant
Greene County Educational Service Center
Teaching children is an intense, demanding, and emotionally draining job. More and more children are coming to school without the social-emotional skills needed to cope and achieve. These children rely on their teachers to learn to co-regulate their emotions and behaviors in the classroom through relationships, yet they are often the source of our greatest stress. This session will examine resilience and how it starts within the teacher and flows outward to the students. The quality of teacher-student relationships is dependent on the teacher’s physical and mental wellness. This session will share simple yet effective strategies for building resilience so you feel better equipped to cope with challenges and stress you face in the classroom.
If you work in the seven county region served by WOSC, (Clark, Darke,mGreene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren Counties) you can attend a session(s) in ONE day for $50. You can attend as many sessions as you want over the 3 days and 3 locations for a mere $100. Educators outside the service area will be charged $100 for any session(s) included in ONE day or $200 for any number of sessions over the three days.
